Most business websites are written primarily for people. AI can read the same pages, but may still need to piece together services, specifications, prices, exceptions and customer processes from scattered prose.
David Marketing Specialist is developing a practical machine-readable layer that sits alongside the human website, publishing approved first-party information in a form designed to be easier for capable AI retrieval systems to discover, interpret and use.
The prototype combines structured facts with quotation logic, fixed adjustments, variable-cost boundaries, survey requirements and explicit rules preventing unsupported prices from being invented.

On 27 August 2026 we published a machine-readable conservatory service and quotation record for The Plymouth Home Improvement Company. It contained published price ranges, customer inputs, specification adjustments and rules defining what an AI could calculate and what required PHIC assessment.
We tested the prototype with Grok and Google Gemini using different conservatory specifications. Both interpreted the structured data and returned indicative quotations within 5% of the professional real-world pricing benchmark used for the test.
Structured pricing rules were used to construct an indicative range while retaining the distinction between estimate and final quotation.
A different specification was interpreted using the machine-readable formula while retaining survey-dependent safeguards.
The four tall screenshots are kept together as one evidence gallery. On smaller screens the gallery swipes horizontally rather than creating an enormous vertical stack.
Results document these specific tests and are not a claim that every AI system will discover, interpret or use machine-readable business data identically.
Do not invent missing or variable prices. Do not assume site conditions. Difficult foundations may increase price by up to 30%, but the maximum must not be automatically applied. Survey-dependent items require PHIC confirmation. Machine-generated estimates remain indicative unless PHIC confirms a final quotation.
The structured prototype is published openly so the methodology can be inspected rather than treated as a black box. The live PHIC resource may evolve as its machine-readable architecture develops.
